Universal Donor

‹ Back Save game..

Flying in the ship

"Ready to go!" you say, and the ship opens up to let you in.

Inside there are lots of buttons and controls, and even a room with snacks in it, although none of them look very appetizing to you. The mysterious person now drops their disguise and you see they are some kind of alien. They are covered in green scaly skin and they have black eyes that don't blink.

"You may want to sit down for this bit," they say. "My name is Gilbert."

You blink. "It's a rather normal name. I needed to sit down for that?"

"No, this," Gilbert says, and presses a button. The ship rockets straight up into outer space faster than you can say "Where are the seat belts?"

The ride is rather smooth after that. You can see Earth growing smaller and smaller in the windows. "We'll be there soon," Gilbert says. "I need to tell you something else about Universal Donors. It's not just blood you can donate. You can donate organs, too. Even entire body parts. It's a remarkable gift. You have the power to save lives across all worlds."

"How much does it pay?"

"There's no pay. But you get to feel like you're making a difference."

That does appeal to you. "How many others like me are there?"

Gilbert shakes his head. "That's the thing. None at the moment. You're the first one we've found in many years. I guess you could say you're pretty special."

As this is all sinking in, Gilbert alerts you to the fact that you're about to reach the Spacekalm HQ. It's a disc-shaped spacestation floating in the middle of nowhere, painting in grey and red.

You land in the hangar, and you disembark.

"This is where we part ways for now," Gilbert says. You need to go to orientation. You're going to through that door there and into the lobby. Go straight down the hall, take the second left, and then go through the blue doors. Not the red door!" They shake their head. "No, wait. DEFINITELY the red door. Absolutely NOT the blue one. That's certain death. You know the difference between red and blue, right? Red like a banana, not blue like an apple."

Before you can ask him to clarify if bananas and apples are different in space, he runs away. You shrug and go through the door to the lobby.
