Universal Donor

‹ Back Save game..

Refuse to give a leg to anyone

You protest and say that you never wanted this job in the first place!

"But Donor," a nurse says in a calm voice. "If neither of the generals gets a new leg they will probably both be very upset and continue fighting each other. If we can help even one of them, there's a possibility the war between their people will finally end."

You stand firm by your choice--on two legs, no less--and refuse to sacrifice your own body for some aliens. Luckily, because Spacekalm is a pacifistic organization, they don't punish you. They respect your choice and arrange passage for you back home. When you get to the hangar, you see Gilbert waiting by his ship."

"Oh, good to see you again," you say.

"Yeah, let's go," he says sharply.

You pack aboard the ship and take off. You're looking forward to getting back to life as usual on Earth, when you notice you're heading towards another space station.

"I don't remember seeing this before," you say. Gilbert shakes his head.

"We're not going to Earth. This is the end of the line for you," he says. "Slave trading post. I'm gonna sell ya."

You protest, naturally. "You can't do that! Spacekalm promised me safe passage back to Earth!"

He shrugs. "I don't work for Spacekalm anymore. They fired me."

You hesitate to ask because you're pretty sure you know the answer, but you squeak out a little, "Why?"

"Because they got no need for a recruiter who wastes their time!" He parks the ship in the docking port and opens the hatch. A couple of armed aliens come in. (They have several arms, but they're also carrying weapons.) They're ready to take you away.

"Next time maybe you should consider giving of yourself even if there's nothing to be gained by it. You said you wanted to be special, and now you blew your chance. Think about that next time." He nods to the alien jailers, and as they drag you off the ship to your fate, you hear him shouting from behind you.

"I don't know why I keep saying 'next time,' though. It's not like you'll have a chance to do any of this again and make difference choices or something. That's not how life works. You don't get to just start over and try again. This is the end!"

THE END

Would you like to start over a try again?
